SA Fire Protection has completed and certified the DCP-Hycal software. The achievement came after an intense testing program carried out by the DESTEC department of the University of Pisa and aimed to validate the calculation model against actual dry chemical flow conditions. The software which has been fully developed within SA Fire Protection is used to hydraulically calculate dry chemical fire suppression systems and it is based on a bi-phasic solid/gas model. The software package allows for the calculation of distributed and concentrated pressure losses within DCP distribution networks.
